Intel is known as a hardware manufacturer, so people are often surprised to learn that it is also the fifth largest software company in the world. Bob Rogers, Intel’s chief data scientist for analytics and AI solutions, explains why he exists at Intel and how he works with users of Intel technology to help them achieve their data science goals. As an example, he will describe the “Intel Inside, Safer Children Outside” program, which aims to accelerate the efforts of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children to rescue children who are at risk.
Bob Rogers, PhD, is chief data scientist for analytics and AI solutions at Intel, where he applies his experience solving problems with big data and analytics to help Intel build world-class customer solutions. Prior to joining Intel, Bob was co-founder and chief scientist at Apixio, a big data analytics company for healthcare. Bob’s mission is to put powerful analytics and AI tools in the hands of all decision makers. To achieve that, he believes that the secrets of unstructured data must be unlocked through the application of broadly accessible open source analytical tools.
