BIDS fellow Katy Huff recently launched her new book Effective Computation in Physics: Field Guide to Research in Python, written with her co-author Anthony Scopatz and published through O’Reilly.
The book, which is officially targeted at physicists but is applicable to a much broader scientific audience, “teaches essential software development skills to help you automate and accomplish nearly any aspect of research in a physics-based field.”
Earlier this year, Katy gave a lightning talk on the contents of the book (see below), explaining the book’s layout as well as her and Anthony’s goal in writing the book.
Congratulations, Katy and Anthony!
