BIDS Research Affiliate Charu Varadharajan, a project scientist in Berkeley Lab's Earth and Environmental Sciences Area, was awarded one of Berkeley Lab's 2020 Director's Awards for Exceptional Achievement during a virtual ceremony on November 12. She is one of four recipients of this year's awards honoring Berkeley Lab scientists’ Early Scientific Careers, presented in recognition of her exceptional achievements and leadership in the area of data science for earth and environmental science, and her contributions have greatly impacted scientific understanding of these systems and influenced collaborations across various teams and DOE research directions. The Director’s Awards program recognizes significant achievements of Lab employees, and each year, these awards are given for their accomplishments, leadership, collaboration, multi-disciplinary science, cross-divisional projects, and commitment to excellence in support of the Lab’s mission and strategic goals.
