We are thrilled to introduce Marsha Fenner, who has joinied the BIDS team as Communications/Program Manager.
In this position Marsha will work to connect researchers, facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration and partnerships, and implement education/outreach programming that will enhance and expand Berkeley’s vibrant and diverse data science community. She will focus on developing programs, strategies, content and events that engage the entire Berkeley research community, enabling us to strengthen and integrate our research efforts with a wide array of disciplines and departments across campus and beyond.
Marsha has managed communications, education/outreach programs and administrative operations for scientific programs and research groups at UC Berkeley and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, including the Innovative Genomics Institute, the DOE Joint Genome Institute and the Advanced Light Source. She holds an MA in philosophy and comparative religious studies from the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco, and a BA in Classics/Philosophy/Mathematics from Elmira College in upstate New York.
Marsha is excited to meet and work with the Berkeley data science community and you can expect to hear from her as we launch our activities for the Fall semester.
