Bio/CV: 

Maryam Hosseini is an Assistant Professor of City and Regional Planning at UC Berkeley. Her research examines how the built environment shapes urban experiences, with a focus on walkability, accessibility, and equity. She integrates urban systems, computer vision, and economics to develop open-source, machine learning-driven tools that support more inclusive and resilient urban design.  Prior to joining Berkeley, she was a postdoctoral researcher at MIT’s Department of Urban Studies and Planning. Earlier, she spent four years as a research associate at NYU’s Visualization, Imaging, and Data Analysis (VIDA) Center in the Computer Science Department, where she conducted her dissertation research.
