Emiley Eloe-Fadrosh

Emiley Eloe-Fadrosh is a Staff Scientist at the DOE Joint Genome Institute and heads the Metagenome Program. Her research focuses on leveraging genome-resolved metagenomic approaches to identify and characterize genomic information from uncultivated microbes and viruses. She currently serves on the Board of the Genomic Standards Consortium and is on the Steering Committee for the International Metagenomics and Microbiome Standards Alliance (IMMSA). Prior to joining the JGI, she was a Bioinformatics Program Fellow at the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation as part of the Marine Microbiology Initiative. She conducted her postdoctoral training in human microbiome research at the Institute for Genome Sciences at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and her graduate work in microbial oceanography at Scripps Institution of Oceanography. She also leads the DOE’s multi-lab pilot National Microbiome Data Collaborative (NMDC).
