Marsha Fenner, BIDS Communications/Program Manager, works to connect researchers, facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration and partnerships, and implement education/outreach programming that will enhance and expand Berkeley’s vibrant and diverse data science community.  She focuses on developing programs, strategies, content and events that engage the entire Berkeley community, enabling us to strengthen and integrate our research efforts with a wide array of disciplines and departments across campus and beyond.  

Marsha has managed communications, education/outreach programs and administrative operations for scientific programs and research groups at UC Berkeley and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, including the Innovative Genomics Institute, the DOE Joint Genome Institute and the Advanced Light Source.  She holds an MA in philosophy and comparative religious studies from the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco, and a BA in Classics/Philosophy/Mathematics from Elmira College in upstate New York.
