As a professional communications expert, Ali has in-depth knowledge of organizational storytelling, communications strategy, content development, visual communications, social media management, and editing.
In her previous role as communications manager for the Berkeley Institute for Data Science (BIDS), Ali developed and implemented creative communication plans for internal and external audiences, created tailored content, facilitated internal communication among BIDS constituents, and organized special events.
Before joining BIDS, Ali held various communications positions of increasing responsibility, including manager and editor roles. In addition, Ali has owned a successful communications consulting company serving a wide range of clients in education and business and has provided myriad communications services, including editing, writing, personalized writing training/coaching, and social media and marketing consulting.
Ali has a bachelor of arts in English with an emphasis in publishing from the Pennsylvania State University, from which she graduated with highest distinction. She also holds a master of arts in professional communication with an emphasis in technical writing and editing from Clemson University.
